What landlords should review before winter

A calm winter begins with timely checks, clear communication and an accurate picture of the property’s condition.

Preventative management is usually quieter and less expensive than an urgent repair. A short seasonal review can protect the property and give tenants confidence that concerns will be handled properly.

01

Heating and ventilation

Confirm that heating controls are understood, arrange servicing where due and deal with ventilation or condensation concerns before colder weather makes them harder to diagnose.

02

Outside elements

Gutters, roofs, external lighting and paths deserve attention before heavy rain and shorter days. Small defects can become disruptive when left through winter.

03

Communication and records

Keep inspection notes, contractor records and tenant communications together. Good records make the next decision faster and clearer.

“Good management is most visible in the problems that never have to become emergencies.”
