A refreshed welcome at Cricklewood Station

Cricklewood Station’s familiar sign has been refreshed with help from volunteers. In an update published on 31 October 2026, Cricklewood Town Team also reported removing deteriorating wooden sheep from the display. Here is what the group says happened, who contributed and why this small local improvement caught our attention.

At Henrys Homes, we talk to people about the places around a home as well as the home itself. A station entrance is part of many ordinary journeys through Cricklewood, so visible care there matters. We welcome the Town Team’s work and the time given by local volunteers and organisations. Their contribution deserves the credit; our aim is to share the update with the neighbourhood.

What the Town Team reported

Cricklewood Town Team says the station sign has received a much-needed refresh. Its 31 October update credits volunteers from McLaughlin & Harvey, Engcon, Turner and Townsend, and Massey Roofing & Cladding Ltd for giving their time. The group also reports that deteriorating wooden sheep were removed from the display. The colourful cow sculpture in our Henrys Homes photograph is a separate feature; the Town Team’s report refers specifically to the wooden sheep.

How the project came together

The Town Team thanks Barnet Council for making the introduction that helped bring people together. It also thanks Leyland Paints for donating materials. The group’s account puts the focus on practical help: volunteers took on the work, while others helped make it possible. We have linked the original update below so readers can see the full acknowledgements from the Town Team itself.

Why we are sharing it

For people who live in Cricklewood, commute through it or visit, a station sign is a familiar part of the local scene. A refreshed landmark cannot solve every issue facing a neighbourhood, but it is a visible example of people choosing to care for shared space. We think those efforts are worth recognising alongside larger changes. They show how local groups, businesses and public bodies can contribute in different ways to the places people use every day.

“A well-cared-for arrival point is a small thing that people notice every day. Thank you to the Cricklewood Town Team and everyone who gave their time and materials to this refresh.”
